Pre-travel notes for overseas visitors

These are general planning notes, not visa, immigration or legal advice. Check the latest information from the relevant Chinese embassy, consulate and authorities.

Visa and entry

Allow sufficient processing time and check passport validity, visa category and entry requirements. The site will later clarify whether a general attendance letter can be provided.

Connectivity and payment

Check international roaming, preferred payment services and card availability before travel, and keep a small backup payment option.

Language support

The website and essential emails are bilingual. On-site language support will be listed with programme and service desk information.

Weather and packing

Guangzhou is often comfortable in November, but check the short-range forecast and prepare for differences between outdoor and air-conditioned temperatures.
